A Cosy Winter Luncheon

1. The Backdrop
If it is a nice day, set yourself up with a nice flat garden surface, near a house / toilet / running water.
Always have a back up plan. I waited and set all of this up the morning of the luncheon, so last minute miracles are possible!

2. The Rug
I must say, this was the star of the show! I got mine on sale at www.zanui.com.au and the setting wouldn't have been the same without it. Definitely worth the $37 and definitely was tempted to buy a second one.
How to use it again:
- Think Summer with cushions, a low crate table and a few nibbles in the sun!
- Take this bad boy to the beach
- The kids soccer games
- Keep it in the car for impromptu picnic days

3. The table & chairs
It could be any setting you have. I always suggest investing in a nice table that doesn't need a cloth to hide the ugly legs!

4. Main Plate, Entree Plate, Starter Bowl, Napkins
Only set the table if the food is being served to the table. If you have too much food for this, and have to serve as a buffet, keep the plates near the food.
If you use your plain white crockery, buy some coloured linen napkins to add to the effect.

5. The Menu (all temperatures in Celsius)
Entree - Damper Roll filled with spinach, french onion soup mix. cream cheese, aioli, sour cream, baked for 20 mins at 160.

Main - Stuffed Roast Chicken (seal on stove w garlic & herbs, oven for 20 mins at 200, 40-50 mins at 170
Roast potato with same oven instructions (I pour melted butter, fresh herbs & garlic salt over mine)

Side Salad - Rocket, Pear, Walnut, Parmesan with balsamic vinegar

Dessert - I don't trust my baking skills so I used a packet cheesecake mix. It took me 10 mins to whip together and it was set and ready to go in time. Secret Ingredient - Malt Syrup Extract mixed into the filling + sexy toppings.

All of the above was filling and easily served to the table!

6. Lawn Games
Croquet, boules, giant noughts & crosses, hula hoops! Games that are interactive are always a winner. They're great photo ops too if you use some signage!
