The Original Espresso Martini

The perfect way to kick start your party, or send off your guests in style.

The Most Important Tips:
Chill your glasses
Sit ice in the glasses you're going to use while you shake the cocktail. Tip it back out before pouring.

The Coffee
Before you scroll to the recipe, know that the secret to a really good cocktail is the coffee. If you dont have a grinder coffee machine, I use fresh pod coffee to get the nice crema on top. Instant coffee won't give you the same taste or texture.

On coffee pod machine:

Press large cup once - this will be enough for 2 x cocktails

Recipe:
The Classic:
1 x shot coffee
1 x shot vodka
1 x shot kahlua
Ice

Method:
Ice in glasses
Build above ingredients into shaker
Shake it baby!
Ice out of glasses
Sexy Espresso Martini poured into glasses
Garnish with 2-3 coffee beans
Serve!

Double to make two at a time - don't try for three in one shaker!

You will need:
1 x cocktail shaker
Vodka
Kailua
Martini glasses
Ice
Coffee
Coffee beans - for garnish

Variations to recipe:
A Twist on the Classic:
1 x shot coffee
1 x shot vodka
1 x shot Tia Maria
Ice

Tiramisu Martini:
1 x shot coffee
1 x shot vodka
1 x shot frangelico
1 x shot Baileys Irish cream

Who invented the espresso martini?
Origin: Created by Dick Bradsell and adapted from his 1983 'Vodka Espresso' invented at the Soho Brasserie, London, England. One of the most imitated modern classic cocktails is the Espresso Martini (originally called a Vodka Espresso on ice), created by living legend Dick Bradsell in 1983 at Brasserie Soho in London.
